In Tony’s opinion, you either love Loki, or you hate him. It’s the same way with him. He sees a sort of kindred soul in the alien, which is equal parts delightful and incredibly terrifying. A little corner of his lip tilts up when Loki mentions the Captain. Again. Why not just a little louder, he thinks to himself, but just shrugs again.
“He’s not my dear anything,” Tony says, because it’s true. “We only just met.” But he’s attractive. He can see himself enjoying time with the other man. “Technically, I’m in a committed relationship with anyone else but she understand that my eye wanders.” He doesn’t quite waggle an eyebrow.
Now comes the need to decide how far to take the lie. And Tony thinks that he should keep Steve’s nose clean this time.
“He’s been in the ice for years. Since before I was born. The world he left isn’t the world he’s woken up to. I haven’t spoken to him about it. I came right to the source. If you can’t help me, that’s fine. I’ll wait until the guy shows up. And with you here, he will show up. That’s all I care about right now.”
