Oh, God...

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.
Drop me a prompt, or ask me to drop you a prompt. Open to doomy pre-IW foreshadowing, fix-it AUs, post-IW angst, character interactions that should have happened but didn't on-screen, crossovers, and whatever else anyone can come up with.

That seems to be a side effect of going into space. Tony's two reviews about it on Yelp, both one star, can speak to that. It’s almost killed him twice. Who can sleep after that?
At least the first time had some pretty good consolation prizes. This time, there's no heroic return after a crash landing, no potential kiss from a rage monster (though Nebula is pretty monstrous and full of rage herself, albeit not in a kissy mood). Tony is happy enough to be back on Earth despite how else he feels, though. As one might expect after half the population of the universe turns to dust, New York is once again in partial ruin. No matter how many times you’ve seen the aftermath of an alien invasion, flames and death don’t really provide a romantic or welcoming backdrop.
There's a lot going on in his head, despite how mindlessly wanders down Fifth Avenue looking for a place to just sit for a little while. Firstly, he's still curious about the way other races in the universe have managed to get around the whole impossibility of light speed. He hasn’t been gone that long, after all. Secondly, he's really thinking about shaving off his facial hair because it reminds him too much of Stupid McWizard-Can’tkeephisword. Thirdly--
Thirdly, he’s thinking about how he has a lung full of Peter Parker and he's not really sure how to cope with that. Usually it's with scotch. Or with a project likely explode in his face. He doesn't have access to either. And oh, Christ on a pogo stick, he’s just so tired...
Nebula had explained on their way back to New York that Thanos must have managed to do his cool new party trick and snapped out half of all of the life in the universe. While that does give him the answer as to why there’s just so much carnage on the streets (suddenly empty vehicles, without drivers and pilots, don’t have a good track record on safely stopping), it doesn’t make him feel very good.
Then again, it could be that before mentioned Spiderman Inhalant he’d taken.
Tony doesn't have a phone. Bruce took the one Steve gave him (and had been literally carrying around with him since it was Fedex'd to Avengers HQ over a year ago) and the other hadn't survived space. Who would he call anyway? For all he knows, Happy can’t bring the car around before Happy doesn’t exist anymore.
And Pepper--
No, he’s not even thinking it. Instead, he just mentally prepares his third Yelp review for space. BAD FOR PHONES. He can picture typing that out with his thumbs on the app as he stares into a distant cone of smoke that seems to be turning vaguely humanoid and then into someone partially recognizable. A rational minded Tony would have wanted that figure to be Pepper, to confirm she’s alive, to have a moment of euphoria that thinking about her must have surely summoned her to him. But an exhausted insomniac who just lost a sort of surrogate child on an alien world is happier still to make out who is actually coming towards him.
Their past be damned at this point.
“Shit. You fused with Thor,” are the first words to come to mind upon seeing Steve Rogers and so Tony says them, dark eyes lined deeper than they’d been when he’d last seen the man.
Ah. Fuck space. ALSO BAD FOR AMUSING QUIPS. Definitely going in the review.
